New Program Launch: Pole Walking

June 29, 2026

Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is pleased to introduce a new Pole Walking program being piloted this August at our Birmingham Gilgan House location in Oakville.

Pole walking is a low-impact, full-body exercise that combines cardiovascular activity with gentle upper- and lower-body movement. It can be adapted to different fitness levels and is designed to support strength, mobility, and overall well-being.

Research supports the benefits of pole walking and aerobic exercise for people living with and beyond cancer, including improvements in fatigue, anxiety, quality of life, and physical function. Nature-based activity has also been shown to support emotional well-being and reduce distress in cancer survivors.

For those unable to attend in Oakville, click here to view a recorded webinar on Pole Walking.
