PhysioYoga: A Supportive and Accessible Approach for Pain

Yoga is one of the most common complementary health practices worldwide. A rapidly increasing number of clinicians are integrating yoga principles and practices into a variety of therapy and healthcare settings including oncology and pain care partly due to growing evidence that shows the vast benefits of yoga for diverse populations.

We discuss blending physiotherapy and yoga therapy (PhysioYoga) to support a person-centered, empowering, compassionate, evidence-informed and whole-person approach to care. Shelly highlights two main components of yoga therapy in pain care and guides you through simple techniques that can be used by people independently at home or integrated into any pain care program in the clinic setting.
