Turn your empty cans and bottles into a donation!

July 7, 2023

Do you want to make a positive impact without impacting your monthly budget? Is your recycling building up but you just don’t have the time or desire to go to the bottle depot? Download SkipTheDepot, available at the APP store or on Google Play, select “Wellspring Alberta” as your charity of choice, and they’ll do the rest!

SkipThe Depot is a door-to-door bottle collection service which will allow you to turn your empty cans and bottles into a donation.

  1. Download the free SkipTheDepot App, and select “Wellspring Alberta” as your charity of choice (https://app.skipthedepot.com/wellspringalberta). The funds from your donation will come directly to us.
  2. Select “Book a pickup” and enter your address, date and Wellspring Alberta. Use the directions/comments section to give specific instructions for the driver to find your secure location (Example, “Bags are along the fence”)
  3. Place your bags outside in a secure location by 8am. The driver will pick up your bags between 8am and 5pm, label them, and take them to our counting facility. You receive notifications every step of the way: requested, picked up, counted and deposited.
  4. Your donations will accumulate with Skip the Depot throughout the year. Wellspring Alberta will deposit your donation in December and all donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt.
  5. As an added bonus – when cashed in December, your donation will be eligible for the year-end matching campaign, doubling your donation.

And in addition to bottles, you can recycle electronics and clothing, all from the comfort of your couch.

SkipTheDepot operates in Alberta, as well as in multiple surrounding areas.
