Building Better Body Image | Living Your Best With Advanced Cancer
Join us for this session of Living Your Best with Advanced Cancer, presented by Wellspring Alberta. In this episode, we’re joined by Dr. Kimberley Gammage and Carly MaGee from Brock University for a conversation on building better body image while living with cancer.
Dr. Gammage, a professor in the Department of Kinesiology, focuses her research on exercise psychology—exploring how physical activity can support positive body image and well-being, especially among older adults and those living with chronic illness.
Carly MaGee, PhD student and researcher, collaborated closely with Wellspring members to design, adapt, and evaluate a positive body image program tailored for individuals living with cancer.
Together, they share insights on how movement, self-compassion, and community can help nurture a more positive body image and support emotional wellness throughout the cancer experience.
