Sleep Well with Cancer | Integrative Oncology

This presentation reviews the basic functions of sleep, common sleep disorders, and how sleep disruption can impact the health and well-being of people with a cancer diagnosis. Dr Sheila Garland is a registered clinical psychologist and associate professor of psychology and oncology at Memorial University. Her research bridges the areas of psychology, oncology, and sleep medicine. Her pioneering work on the influence that poor sleep has on cancer recovery, and the establishment of effective interventions, has improved the nights, and days, of cancer survivors worldwide.
