Update regarding in-person programming

With the recent announcement that Alberta is entering stage 3 of reopening on July 1, we’re sure you have questions about when Wellspring Calgary will be reopening its doors to in-person programming.

While we do not have a date yet as to when we will open our centres and provide in-person programs, we want you to be aware of the process we are undertaking.

As has been the case throughout the pandemic, Wellspring Calgary will continue to take a very conservative approach to in-person reopening, including Calgary centres, outdoor and off-site programs, and southern Alberta engagement, as we remain committed to keeping the people we serve as safe as possible. We anticipate being among the last to open and will be aligned with the Medical Officer of Health and the Government of Alberta, our partner, Cancer Care Alberta, and the Wellspring network.

We are monitoring the timeline of vaccine access, the impact of variants, and will be closely watching what happens in the fall (cold and flu season, back to school). When it’s time, we imagine a phased reopening, first bringing just staff together in the centres, then adding volunteers and program leaders, followed by welcoming our members and the public. Programming will initially be phased, with one program in the morning and one program in the afternoon at each centre.

Please be assured that we will continue to offer online programs moving forward, so you can continue to benefit from Wellspring Calgary’s programs and community, regardless of where you are.

We understand that members, volunteers and staff will experience diverse and individual feelings about reopening, and we will be both sensitive to and respectful of every person’s feelings and choices about coming or not coming together in person.

We are committed to updating everyone as we go and giving as much notice as possible about reopening.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to us at info@wellspringcalgary.ca.

  1. Welcome to Wellspring Calgary, Dr, McCall! How interesting that you have this childhood connection to the Stephure family. Your background and experience will be valuable as you joint the Wellspring team.
