CNOOC International might have its sights set on delivering safe, sustainable energy throughout the world, but that doesn’t stop this energy giant from zeroing in on personal health and wellness, and looking for meaningful ways to help strengthen and build thriving communities.

For Wellspring Alberta, CNOOC’s commitment to investing in communities comes in the form of a grant to help ensure Wellspring can continue to offer its vast complement of cancer support programs, free of charge to those living with cancer, no matter where they live.

“We’ve been supporting Wellspring for a number of years, and this year, with Wellspring now a province-wide organization, we took a special interest in the expanded reach of these support programs, and the positive implications of rural accessibility,” said Margaret-Anne Lee, Senior Manager – Stakeholder Affairs at CNOOC.

Lee further explains that CNOOC operates in remote areas of the province, and the company is interested in ensuring employees across Alberta are aware of these health and wellness benefits. Wellspring’s robust online program offerings are featured in the company’s internal distribution of corporate news and resources.

“We have an intranet called ‘The Pulse’ and we use it to broadly share news items, corporate information, and stories about organizations we support with our employees. We’ve also been sharing the Wellspring calendar of programs through our collaboration platform, and we’re glad to know that our employees and the people who live and work in the communities we operate in can access and benefit from them,” she said.
