Cancer can affect anyone, as shown by the story of Niki Fehr, Wellspring’s program director. Five years into working at Wellspring, Niki received a breast cancer diagnosis. In an instant, she transitioned from supporting individuals with cancer to becoming a young mother in need of support herself. During those challenging months, Niki turned to Wellspring, utilizing the community and programs she had once helped to foster.
Today, Niki is fully recovered and back at Wellspring, more dedicated than ever to ensuring others have access to our free programs and services. “I know firsthand how the cancer journey is hard and ridden with unexpected loss and suffering. It turns our lives upside down; it often reduces or eliminates our income and self-worth; it puts pressure on relationships and it impacts every aspect of life. Nothing is ever the same after cancer. This is where Wellspring donors step in,” she shares.

Your contribution can truly make a difference. With our matching campaign, your gift of $25 becomes $50, or your $50 donation will be transformed into $100! No matter the amount, every donation counts and helps support those living with cancer.
All donations help Wellspring Alberta provide over 70 free programs to Albertans diagnosed with cancer, their caregivers and families. We do not receive any core government funding, and rely completely on the kindness and generosity of our donors. Together, we can create a meaningful impact and ensure that individuals facing cancer have the resources and community support they need.
